The Respiratory Failure and End-Stage Lung Disease programs at The Lung Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital provide restorative, resuscitative and advanced interventional therapies for patients with severe respiratory failure and debilitating end-stage lung disease.
Our programs bring together the strengths of multidisciplinary teams of specialists from medicine, surgery and rehabilitation: pulmonologists specializing in critical care medicine, thoracic surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, rheumatologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, respiratory and physical therapists—all dedicated to life-threatening lung disease. We work closely with physician researchers to develop promising diagnostic and treatment approaches, moving discoveries from the laboratory to direct patient care. Together, we have created advanced programs of care that hold great promise for critically-ill patients experiencing respiratory failure and end-stage lung disease.
